Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the sliced flank steak dry and season lightly with salt and pepper. Have the broccoli, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, broth, and sesame oil ready before heating the pan.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side, working in batches if needed so it browns instead of steaming.
- Transfer the beef to a plate. Add the broccoli to the same pan with a splash of beef broth and cook 3–4 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Add garlic and ginger and stir for 30–45 seconds, just until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the pan. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and the remaining broth. Toss for 1–2 minutes until the sauce coats the beef and broccoli.
- Taste, adjust salt and pepper, and finish with sesame seeds if using.
